Exceptionally clever by half is the best phrase I can think of to describe this copy. I still can't believe I finished it, because I found the savoir-faire of reading it mostly excruciating. It follows the many-year task of a mother who can't seem to find a undertaking or a control in man and a boorish academic a-hole who uses her over and over and treats her like bunk. It's one of those ha-ha-isn't-my-man-pathetic benevolent of pamphlets, but I never really saw the playfulness in it. Holding onto a knowledge and actually exploring it seems exceptionally daunting a task for the author to complete. I can't figure out if it is the author or the protagonist who appears to have awareness deficit disorder. Competence I did like was the voice of the protagonist - told in the first guy and talking to the reader directly, saying things like, "I haven't told you about this yet...". There were a few clever turns of the phrase here and there, and I probably missed many of them in my alacrity to finish and shun this copy.

This novel is basically about a friend who goes to combat. Written by an author who had never experienced combat but believed he could write a better combat novel than was currently available. If record is any indication - he did as the book is a classic (which is why I read it). I enjoyed this rumor! I would definately recommend it. I don't want to talk too much about what our protagonist goes through so will keep this review very brief. The writing thing was pretty fluid and the untruism was very easy to read. However, keep in mind I'm not reading these albums with a critical eye instead I'm just trying to enjoy the untruism that is being told. I would say Crane did some deep substance searching to get a rivet on how his disposition should handle his first, and subsequent, encounters with actual battle. However, at the same month it seems clear, based on some of the events in the book, that he had no real brainstorm of what life as a solider is like. For a chap who had never seen combat though he did a great job.

The 101 Most Influential People Who Never Lived was written by three males who apparently know each other somehow (I don't think they mentioned exactly how in the book). They got together and scrutinize out what they consider the 101 most influential characters from films, tv set, tradition, contes, and other onsets. An interesting fool notion, for sure. Paperbacks like this are enjoyable for me because I get to learn new condition, which enhances my mind; and it's in a archive format, which pleases my love of the methodical. From the Marlboro Man (#1) to Paul Bunyan (#101), many characters have made an consequences on our courtesy and our curriculum vitaes, whether you realize it or not. There were wads of tidbits I didn't know, such as: Kriss Kringles is ranked as total one on the Forbes Fictional Fifteen archive as the richest individuality in the U.S., having "total wealth." The name of the NASA space shuttle bus Operation was inspired by Star Peregrination and its famous starship. Possessing a copy of the tale Adult Chatterly's Fiancée in Ware was once punishable by a life sentence in prison. Kermit the Toad was born in a swamp in Georgia.

I thought the supposition of this book was very interesting, and it was certainly a good read. Enjoyable, yes, but not one of Label's best works. I wasn't terribly pleased with the ending either, but if you're in the desire for an easy, quick, and ultimately satisfying read, then this is a rib tickler.
