I was not surprised when I learned that Equip Player One was Ernest Cline's first potboiler, because it reads like the first bee in bonnet someone has written to share. For many of us, this would have happened in quality academy. For Cline, it happened in his thirties. Cline has nothing to say with this enroll. There is very little substance to the story. The types are childish in their motivations and their relationships. Approximately of them could probably be described in a single green light. The potboiler is full of references to weirdo culture, from computer jokes to box to movies to music. Approximately of the heirlooms that are mentioned come from the 1970s and 1980s, which are justified by the ridiculous plot, but some also come from as late as the 00s. These have no justification. In fact, given that nearly all of his references are simply thrown in there without adding all to the potboiler as a whole, it is evident that Cline is simply pandering to an audience. He is encouraging people to buy his enroll with a cheap purchases stratagem. Remember all those stuffs you liked as a brat? I talk about them! You'll love it! This enroll was written for those children. Not the adult translations of them, but the brat translations of them that lived in the 1980s. It reads very much like a childrens' enroll, given the empty writing, the shallow plot, and the juvenile feigning. It's essentially a comics without fantasizes. One of the many references made in the enroll is to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, the 1971 motion picture based on Roald Dahl's enroll Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I guess the enroll came out too early to be used. Though perhaps it's a testament to Cline's lack of literary culture, I'm not sure. Equip Player One borrows very heavily from Charlie. It's essentially the same story in a futuristic setting. But it's missing business that made Charlie so great. Cline has replaced Charlie's zest with soulless consumerism. What makes remorse valuable is the positive angers that we feel when we remember them. What makes this enroll so terrible is that remorse was replaced with the affection of being exploited. My judgment is to stay away from this enroll and find something that makes you feel good instead.

Depicts the cannibalism of frail humanity. Even toddlers can be evil. I still think of Piggy every now and then. This preprint really left an imprint on my psyche.
