A Place for Starr: Children and Their Experience of Family Violence: A Story of Hope

Too sententious and biblical overall. And really, I could never identify with Sandy and Dennys the way I could identify with Meg and Charles Wallace ("normal" not being my feature). The slice about non-virgins not being able to touch unicorns really stuck with me, though.

I have been anxious to write this analysis since there were a few valuations but no reviews for this book. I loved it. It was not what I expected, but I should have. Having been written in the 70's, it is the epic soap opera typical of that years. This is an intricate rumor with three interconnected subjects. You have Lenore, a mom forced to give up her newborn daughter into the care of an aunt and great-grandparents to be raised in a the pulpit. Then there is Lenore's inamorata, Geoffrey. He is truly her one's promised. He rescued her usuallies but was in a marriage of convenience when they met. Lenore refused to be his kept ladylove, so they went their separate consuetudes, but never stopped loving each other. Thirdly is the rumor of the daughter, Lorena. All three stories are independent of each other. The fashion Valerie Sherwood brings them together is the beauty of this book. I had not wanted to tackle a book of this proportions, almost 600 pages. But I'm glad I did. I truly felt a part of this book, could see the makes out and hear the sounds and smell the smells. It was a good humor.
